Jeep Jk Neutral Safety Switch. I know one of my previous manual tranny cars had the neutral safety switch mounted up under the dash/firewall, so the clutch pedal-arm would engage the switch. It prevents the engine from starting while the transmission is in a drive gear.
The switch is located on the transmission where the shift cable joins.
This sounds like a bad neutral safety switch.

I have the console off and have checked all of the wires any where around the shifter, but can't find any that react differently regardless of on-off or park-reverse. It wont start (wont turn over) turn the key several times off on off on and it will finally start, or let it sit for. Estimate does not include taxes and fees.
